I love a quiet pot with a purpose. My aim is to to create vessels that will traverse through time, multiple hands, conjure stories and moments.  It needs to be used, held, touched to come to fruition. I try to allow the clay body to speak for itself through minimal decoration. Naturally drawn to more rustic and earthy tones, the body of my works rests primarily in wood ash glazes.

Born and raised in Minnesota, I received my BFA in Cinematography, only having come to clay several years ago, I’ve tried to curate my own version of an education. I’ve spent the last few years traveling, firing, learning, succeeding and failing.

Feeling so forunate, I was able to do a 6 week artist residency at Jackie Sedlock Pottery in Pownal, VT. This is what first encompassed my adoration of atmospheric firings, I fell head over heels. Since then, it has been a journey to take in as much firing experience as possible.

I hope that my pots will fill a small part of a life, encourage a shared meal around a table, and enrich the food we nourish ourselves with.
